Our mission of the Childcare Facility is to provide a safe, loving environment for all of Gods children placed in our care while parents worship, study Gods Word and serve in the church. Our trained volunteer staff is dedicated to providing the best possible care for your child. All of our staff has gone through a security application for your comfort and your childs safety. Their excitement to care for your child is evident, and many of them have dedicated their time in ministering in the classroom on a weekly basis.
Our nurseries childcare facilities are available to you and your child during all worship services. We have a new, larger childcare wing to accommodate your children with utmost safety and care. We even have a large fish tank and "Barnanbus" the big-stuffed dog to welcome timid children into our facility. We know that you will find our rooms to be welcoming and comforting for your child whether newborn or preschool age. There are eight rooms in our new wing.
Infant Room: Children enjoy the infant room up until 12 months of age. We have numerous stationary and activity toys to keep your baby happy. Our staff happily comforts a baby and our room holds many cribs for sleeping babies. Pagers are also available for your comfort in knowing when your child needs you.
One Year Old Room: Children in the toddler room range from those who are 12 months until their 2nd birthday. One year olds have plenty of room to practice their new crawling and walking skills.
Two Year Old Room: This room is for toddlers until their 3rd birthday. Toddlers have plenty of room to play and romp and larger toys to entertain your growing child. The room also contains a table and chairs for a short story time and simple art project.
Three Year Old Room: The three year old program begins our more structured, preschool type classroom experience. They have a play area with many age appropriate toys as well. A Bible lesson with story time and art project for the three-year olds is taught. The environment is more casual than classroom, however. All children whether or not they are used to structured classroom experience find our room and teachers welcoming and enjoyable. This age group visits the Play Room as part of their Morning Worship schedule.
Four Years Old through Kindergarten Room: Welcome to the big-kid room! This room though filled with tables and chairs is decorated with fun and love. Children can color on the giant chalkboard. They also have a special time to visit the Play Room and Craft Room within their morning worship schedule. Structured lessons are fun and Bible-based. Children learn doctrines from scripture such as creation and the Trinity in an easy-to-learn, fun manner.
Play Room: Larger toys such as a play kitchen and train table filled with tracks are in our toy room. This room allows children who have been in our care from Sunday School to change rooms for a fun diversion. Toys are age appropriate for children ages three and older.
Craft Room: This room is a "quiet" room filled with tables and chairs. Children can leave the noise of the playroom and retreat to coloring books, simple table games, and picture books. If the teacher in the older classrooms have an involved craft, they can come to this room to complete their project.
We also have a private Mother's Room for nursing mothers. This room holds several rocking chairs, a diaper changing area, and a sink for your needs.
When you first visit our Childcare Facility you will need to stop at the Welcome Desk to register your child/children ages newborn to Kindergarten. They will give you a Welcome packet with our Childcare Handbook and emergency procedures for your information. They will also ask you to fill out a registration card with your basic contact information. The Childcare Coordinator will be happy to then show you your child's room.
At the room, you will be asked to check-in your child, and you will be given a tag that will show your childs number. Please put your tag in an easily remembered pocket, you will need it to check-out your child. Your child will also have the same number tag attached to his or her clothing.
Please make sure that any item that you have brought for your child is labeled with his or her name. Items needing to be labeled include sippy cups, pacifiers, bottles, blankets, or diaper bags. You may also write down any special instructions for your child when you check them into their classroom.
All childcare parents are welcome to borrow a parent pager for your comfort. These pagers can be checked out at the Welcome Desk. If needed, parents will be notified by page from the Childcare staff. Please wear your pager at all times. It will vibrate and give you a text message.
If your child is in diapers, please provide enough diapers and wipes for the amount of time that you plan to leave you child in the Classroom. If your child is potty training or already trained, there is a nearby restroom where the workers will take them. Please bring a change of clothes in case of an accident.
If your child has been ill (fever, coughing, vomiting, diarrhea, and uncommon rashes) within the previous 24 hours please do not bring him or her to the Childcare Facility. Please understand that will not permit your child to be admitted for the health of the other children. If we find that your child begins to feel ill during a service, we will contact or page you promptly.
We provide age-appropriate snacks in all of our classrooms. If your child has an allergy to foods, please alert the Welcome Desk and your childs caregiver. They will make sure that your child is given any special snack that you bring.
Only parents/caregivers that have the tag may pick up their children. The childcare worker will make sure your tag number is the same number on the tag of the child being released to you. Children cannot be released to their siblings under age 18. If you have borrowed a pager, please return it to the classroom or the Welcome Desk at this time. The check-out process may take a few extra moments, but these procedures are designed for the safety of the children.
