Big Church is a difficult thing for a little child to sit through. Either they squirm all service, so that mom or dad cannot fully listen to the message to feed the heart, or they fall asleep messing up their scheduled sleep pattern! If your child is very quiet, sits still, and never falls asleep, he or she still will not grasp the full meaning of the pastor's message. The Bible even addresses this issue in 1 Corinthians: "When I was a child, I used to speak as a child, think as a child, reason as a child" (13:11).
At GCM we know how hard it is for the little guys and gals. We want them to get used to big church, however. In Sunday evening worship times, we hold Little Lights. Children ages 4-2nd grade come into the service with their family for the congregational singing and any other specials, like missionary visual presentations. When it is nearly time for the sermon, these children are dismissed to our very caring Little Lights crew. They head to the Preschool classroom on the same floor for a Bible time directed to their age, their speaking, their thinking, their reasoning. A craft on the lesson theme is always completed, and of, course you have to have a snack!
We are excited that we can offer this Little Lights program not only for your children but for you, moms and dads, also!
