Pastor Robert Potter
Pastor Potter earned his BS degree in Secondary Education from Kent State University. He earned his BA in Pastoral Studies from Moody Bible Institute and has done additional work at the University of South Carolina, Baptist Bible Institute in Cleveland and Baptist School of the Bible in Cleveland. Pastor Potter has been in the ministry for thirty-seven years as of June 2005.
Pastor Potter served as the Senior Pastor at Grace Church of Mentor for thirty-four years, during which time he saw weekly attendance grow to over four hundred. On January 1, 2006, Pastor Potter stepped down as Senior Pastor and became the Director of Church Planting.
Pastor Potter's Purpose Statement
My supreme desire in life is to glorify God, glorify His Son, my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, glorify God's Word, edify the saints and evangelize the lost (I Corinthians 10:31 & 32; Colossians 1:18 & 19; Galatians 6:14; Ephesians 4:12-16; Matthew 28:19 & 20). I have no greater desire in life than to know the Lord, minister in his behalf to his people and those who do not know him.
The Lord has greatly burdened my heart to see the body of Christ unified practically on the basis of the consistent and careful exposition of and obedience to God's Word so that the world of unsaved men may know by the church's unity and obedience to the Word of God that God has sent Jesus Christ to save them (John 3:16; John 17:21).
The pulpit ministries, the Bible Institute and future seminary, evangelistic endeavors both personally and corporately and church planting are our means of glorifying our God, His Son, His Word, edifying His people and evangelizing the lost.
